March 16, 2004 Electro-Logic Machines Founder Granted Patent Video Motion Detection System provides substantial control of video motion triggers. Port Townsend, Washington. Electro-Logic Machines, Inc. Founder, Eric McRae, was granted patent number 6,707,486 for a video image processing system developed for one of the company's earliest clients. The system combined hardware based image data reduction and a software algorithm which calculated the video mass and trajectory of motion within a series of images. Once the mass and trajectory are known, it is easy to qualify the motion in terms of interest. For example, front to back, right to left, etc. It is also easy to reject certain apparent motion such as sun shadows and flashing lights. Details of the patent are available from the U. S. Patent and Trademark Office. Electro-Logic Machines, Inc. has been providing custom TPU programming services and embedded system engineering to the automotive, avionics, medical and robotics industries since 1992. |
