The eTPU (Enhanced Time Processor Unit) is
Freescale Semiconductor's
2nd generation of the
TPU.
The eTPU provides substantially improved computational capabilities as well as hardware features
which better support engine control.
Electro-Logic Machines supports the eTPU and is in the process of converting its engine control code to this platform. In addition, the enhanced capabilites of the eTPU and the higher clock speed of its parent platforms have opened new arenas where the device can be used.
